Hello Friend,

We did a little two night get away around Taylors Falls, St. Croix Falls, and Hinckley, Minnesota over the weekend after dropping four kids off with relatives.

It was to celebrate our 30 year wedding anniversary (which will actually happen in September - but that is a busy time for our family). Here is a photo of my husband, Mike, and I at a beer garden in Taylors Falls with our root beers (and cups to keep out insects).

Over the weekend, we reminisced on all that we have been through over our years of marriage, including his recent ear cancer and my pregnancy-induced-heart-failure years ago.

• we both received Jesus as our Lord and Savior during our marriage
• we have had 3 of our parents and all of our grandparents pass away
• we have bought and lived in seven houses, plus additional moves
• we have been pregnant 12 times and raised (are raising) 8 children together
• we have one child married
• we have helped adult children move out
• several jobs over the years
• many pets
• lots of dates
• and so much more

We like to shop at (mostly just look at items) flea markets, craft booths, farmers markets. Some items purchased were:

• shoes
• hanging kitchen towels
• homemade jelly
• homemade sourdough bread
• homemade vanilla extract
• small gifts for the youngest four kids
• and ice cream, of course!
