Frugal Tips, Freebie Dishcloth, Coupon

Hello Friend,

A Few Great Helpers for Frugal Times

As a stay at home mom of eight (my oldest is 26 and my youngest is 6), I have learned a few things about survival on a small amount of income. I don't want to keep anything to myself and have you learn the hard way, when I know I could help you.

These printables are all in my Etsy shop (use the $5 off coupon below by 8/31/25). It's ok if you are not in the US to buy digital items - the coupon will still work.

The coupon below includes a free shipped dishcloth handmade by me...

If I had a dollar for every time people ask me, "how do you do it all and stay so patient?" Well, the first answer is, "Jesus gave me His Holy Spirit to help me." But also, I do relax and unwind by crocheting! When my family sits down to watch Lego Masters or a family movie, I crochet dishcloths. I like to keep my hands moving, feel the nice 100% cotton yarn on my skin and not think about my to do list. I also crochet when riding in the vehicle or when waiting for people at events or appointments.

Currently, I have too many. They are listed in my Etsy shop, and my listings do show up in the top few search pages when searching "crochet dishcloth" on Etsy, but there is a lot of competition!

My birthday is this coming weekend, so I am offering a code to you so that you can get a free dishcloth (US only) with your shipped purchase to celebrate with me PLUS $5 off (works everywhere) through 8/31/25. Please email me or message me through the Etsy app (I see this the fastest) if you have any trouble using the coupon code.

Here it is...

  1. Add all desired items to your Etsy shopping cart before checkout, but NOT the free dishcloth. (If you are outside the US, purchase digital/printable items only and skip to step 4.) It's shocking, but there are almost 400 items in my Etsy shop! You may notice that I have been on Etsy for 8 years, so I have had time to build it up.
  2. Message me through Etsy or email which color you want from what is available in my shop and I will add it to your physically shipped order (in the US only). Please tell me your name, city and state in the message - so I add it to the right order.
  3. There is a flat $4 shipping fee until you get above $35, then it's free shipping. Of course, tax will be added.
  4. Be sure the code DISHCLOTHAND5 is entered in all caps and that Etsy took the $5 off before completing the purchase.
  5. Please note that I do accept Etsy gift cards and codes in my shop.

Okay, I don't think I left anything out. You have all the info and details, but message me if you have a question.

If you are like me and de-stress with crafting and need to open an Etsy shop too, I tell you step by step how to do it with screenshots (for free, plus you get 40 free listings) in this article on my blog. Warning, you should grab a hot beverage, it's long!

How do you Start an Etsy Shop?

Want to help my Etsy ratings? Please favorite my shop or individual items or place a few of my items in your "save for later" in your shopping cart. 5 star ratings in feedback on purchases also helps! I do not work outside the home and I still have 8 of us living at home (one is married, one just went back to college yesterday) and we are on a frugal budget. So I am so thankful and love it when you do this, it really helps me stand out with all the competition.

Have a joy filled day!

seasonal clothing tracker inventory list

Hello Friend, As a mom of 8 kids, I go through the kids clothing every Spring and Fall. This is how I do it. On a Saturday morning, I hand each older kid a Seasonal Clothing Tracker with the Type of clothing or accessories and sections to write how many they Have of each. I go through the younger kids' clothing at the same time. When I have all the papers, I go through and write how many of each item are Needed. My older kids wash their clothing once a week, so I like them to have at least...

hand holding homemade yellow play dough

Hello Friend, I am a person who loves to give and receive homemade gifts. If you need a gift for a child, I suggest that you look around and see what materials you have on hand. Then, if necessary, purchase inexpensive new materials and save any leftovers for future projects. Here are some ideas: Bean Bags - Use durable material scraps and dried beans or dried corn. A Dress Up Box or Tote - Fill with yard sale finds or items donated by Great Aunt Hazel. Play Dough - I like to place what I...
